Mike grew up on the East Coast in the New England area and moved to Southern California in 1980 to attend college. It was there that he met his future bride, Tacoma native, Darlene. In 1992, Mike took Darlene back home to the great Northwest with their firstborn, Danielle, and began working
with teens as part of a local church youth ministry in Darlene's home town. A few years later, they were asked to get involved
with the worship team and, later, to join the pastoral team. Mike was
ordained in July of '99 and he and his family moved to Bonney Lake that
same month. He has been involved in teaching and music ministry in
Tacoma, Federal Way, and, now, Buckley. They love living on the plateau.
"I met Dale in '02, and he became my mentor in '03. He continues to challenge me to become the man God made me to be. It has been a wild ride! My heart is to challenge others, especially men, with the message of God's great adventure - the gospel - and to invite them to find their place in The Great Story. Mike
works full-time for IBM and volunteers as part of the pastoral team here at Cedar. He
and Darlene have been married 25 years and have been blessed with two daughters, one son, and one son-in-law. :-) They love camping, snow, and spending time
together.
"The Lord is a wild man. He's not a 'tame lion'. He isn't 'safe', but He's good. I love walking with Him - you never know what adventures or challenges are waiting for you just around the corner."
